Midwest Xperimental Audio (MXA) is an independent music collective and record label founded by Aljinx. It exists as an open space for artists to create, share, and explore music freely, without being limited by genre, skill level, or production background.
MXA is not defined by a single sound or style. While experimentation is a common thread, the focus is not on being abstract or unconventional for its own sake, but on allowing each artist to express themselves honestly. A track can be heavy, melodic, raw, polished, chaotic, or simple—what matters is that it reflects something real.
Rather than chasing trends or commercial expectations, MXA provides a home for independent artists who value creativity over perfection. It is a place where music can exist on its own terms, shaped by instinct and the desire to make something meaningful.
MXA is built on the idea that music does not need to be perfect to have value. Some of the most compelling work comes from experimentation, limitation, and unexpected outcomes. Imperfections are not flaws to be erased, but part of what gives a piece character.
The goal is not to follow a formula or compete for attention, but to encourage artists to trust their instincts and explore their ideas without hesitation. Whether that leads to something complex or something minimal, the process itself is just as important as the result.
This approach removes the need for expensive tools or formal training as a barrier to creation. The focus stays on intention, imagination, and the act of making something genuine. MXA exists to support that mindset—where creativity is driven by curiosity, and where expression is valued simply because it exists.
Somewhere between idea and execution, something interesting happens. MXA is a space for creating and sharing music without rules or expectations—whether it’s rough or refined, structured or unpredictable. Sound doesn’t need permission to exist. If it came from you, it belongs here.
